Strategic guidance: Board members provide strategic guidance and direction to the organization. They help to set goals and objectives, develop plans and policies, and monitor the organization’s progress towards achieving those goals.
Oversight: Board members are responsible for overseeing the management of the organization. They ensure that the organization is operating within legal and ethical guidelines, that financial resources are managed responsibly, and that the organization is meeting its mission and objectives.
Resource mobilization: Board members can leverage their networks and connections to help the organization use ALE funds appropriately.
Accountability: Executive Board members hold the organization’s management team accountable for their performance. They ensure that the organization is transparent, accountable, and responsive to its stakeholders.
Risk management: Board members help to identify and mitigate risks that may affect the organization. They can provide guidance on risk management strategies and help to ensure that the organization is prepared for unexpected events.
Overall, board members play a critical role in the success of an organization. Their strategic guidance, oversight, resource mobilization, accountability, and risk management are all essential for the organization to achieve its goals and fulfill its mission.
